Community health workers and frontline workers play a crucial role in the delivery of life-saving health services during the pandemic. Antara International supports the delivery of public health innovations to tackle maternal and child mortality, via its partner, The Antara Foundation (TAF) in India. During COVID, TAF has supported various COVID response efforts to identify high risk populations, provide technical training to frontline workers and provide on-site support in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
During India’s devastating second COVID wave, starting April 2021, TAF put together an emergency response to provide essential safety and screening supplies, train frontline health workers on screening, prevention and vaccination, and support government in mobilizing communities for COVID vaccination.
TAF’s work so far has covered ~34,000 health staff across ~6,800 villages, serving 10 million+ people across five districts in Madhya Pradesh.
